Educational technology is important in society because, as technology and our understanding of its uses in education evolve, new learning opportunities arise. The facilitation of learning, whether formal or nonformal, and the improvement of performance through the use of technology benefits both learners and organizations.

My own teaching philosophy is based on both respect and evolution, and technology is nothing if not evolving.  Over the past seven years of teaching both face-to-face and online, I have been a highly motivated facilitator and have created well-structured and interesting learning interventions. Supportive and respectful environments based on constructivist theory, incorporating both task-based learning and open communication have allowed me to guide learners effectively to their goals.

I am interested the best teaching practices, standards, certification and the appropriate application of technology to meet learners' needs, as well as the needs of organizations. As a people person with excellent communication skills I hope to humanize technology while maintaining a business perspective of cost-savings and effectiveness by putting into practice my business, IT and education experience from the last 15 years. The convergence of these 3 areas mean that I am the person with the skills to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs using the appropriate technology required, whilst also handling the project with the precision of an experienced project manager.
